Yep there is going on something wrong with the forum.Today I had some problems with it as well.

Thanks guys, appreciate the advice...

So, since this is my first painting of a defense band, how should I do it??? Should I spray the whole thing RLM76 first and then spray the blue???

Im kinda lost on how to apply everything and then tape it off.... This is how I would try to do it:

I would spray the blue in the area that the band will be over the white primer.... Dont tape anything off before applying blue, get overspray past the areas that will be taped off for the edges of the band...

After it dries, lay on the blue painters tape where the edges will end and cover the entire band in tape.... Then apply the RLM76, then the camo....

Remove tape and band looks nice....

Am I close fellas???

Sounds right to me Dan, give the blue band a coat of Future after you spray it though to protect it from the tape when you remove it.

Spot on Dan! When you spray the band, allow a decent amount of overspray, feathering outwards, progressively thinning away from the band area. This will help avoid a ridge forming when the following paint coats are applied. As M pointed out, a coat of 'Future' is a good idea, although probably not required if you're using enamels and a low-tack tape, such as Tamiya. That one's up to you.
Sounds like it's coming together nicely mate! BTW, do you still need those decals for the 'grey' crosses? Give me a shout if you do, and I'll send them by cleft-stick runner - or maybe Air Mail.

Thanks for the assists guys....

I think Im good to go on the crosses Terry..... These are what are on the original decal sheet....

Agree with the Guys Dan do the blue and mask it if you do your other colours lightly and build up the paint you should be ok.

I think it is more likely that the lower wing crosses don't have the outer black border.....

Ah, think I understand. You're going to paint the grey inside the crosses, or put the crosses over grey? Anyway, if you change your mind, the grey ones are still here mate.

Ummmm, not sure what ur implying Terry....

The thin white will go on the fuselage and the center of that is the RLM74... The decal will go over the paint....

That's what I meant Dan; you are going to position the white-outline fuselage crosses over an area painted RLM 74 Grey, so that the centres will be that colour.

Is it just me or does the drop tank look different in the profile to the photo?

Or am I just ranting on about irrelevancy?
