I've never used the stuff before, but do you normally use water to remove it?

You can either take it off with masking tape OR with a little bit of water. It depends on the size of the area covered. If it's big enough to grab the mask with the tape I just use that. Otherwise I use a hobby knife to cut down a toothpick to get a flat pointed side, then get a little water on the micro mask and just push gently on the mask with the toothpick. It doesn't scratch the clear part if you are careful and once the mask lifts up it can be peeled off easily. The water doesn't dissolve the mask it just helps to loosen it from the underlying part.

So like a decal? ADding water and moving it?

No not like a decal although I guess you could do that. I usually brush paint it on where I want it, in a fairly thick coat so that the blue tint will let me know where it's gone, and then just let it dry. If necessary I'll add a second or third coat to make sure I have the area I want masked off completely covered.

If you use water during application, the mask gel can get way too runny and will get in places you don't want or not on areas where you do want it.

When I'm finished with the painting the water is just for clean up.

Ok going against Dwight and Wojtek's order I added bottom camo last night at about 10. That was done. I let that dry until about 4 a.m. and then MASKED it.

At 8 a.m. I started with the first coat (PIC 1)

Let that dry until 1 P.m. then went on with second coat (PIC 2)

and then just now did coat 3 (PIC 3)

Will let that dry till late tonight, then mask the camo... On New Year's day I'll airbrush the camo.

Will work on canopy today since micro mask is dry.
