I agree with Wojtek on all counts Dan. Let the Future coat dry, then hit the required area again, as if applying paint, ensuring you just 'feather' the edges of the area. You'll find it will self-level when it dries, and when the decals go on, with the aid of Micro Sol and Set, or even just the Sol, they'll snuggle down flatter than American beer (only kidding about the beer...well, ish!).
But don't be tempted to try to put the coat on thick in one go, just imagine it's a new start, with paint. If it's easier, do the whole area again, and turn the job so that the lighting shows where it's going, in order to avoid too much build-up. It should work out nicely.
