Gijive, I have the Revell He 111H-6 (kit 04377), and it is a reboxing of the Hasegawa kit. I can photograph it for you if you like once the batteries for the camera are charged, or you can search it on google under 'Revell He 111 1:72 review' or similar. (Typing the name and 'review' is a great way for finding info out about a kit before you buy it. Saves a possible waste of money!)

I know it's not a kit, but it is a WWII aircraft and I did build it. It's a scratch-built model of the OS2U-1 Kingfisher, done from a 3-view I downloaded from Chance-Vought's web site. The color scheme is from a bird attached to the USS Pennsylvania.

Structure is balsa and light ply, covered with document lamination film and painted with several different paints. The pilot (Ensign Butterbar) and the turtledeck behind him are foam, and they come out as a unit to change batteries. The base coat is Pactra flat spray light grey enamel, the yellow and red are Tamiya flat acylics, and the blue is Apple Barrel (!) acrylic. I did the markings on sticky-backed transparent labels, then painted in the details (except for the stars-and-meatballs; those are all laser printer).

I did stretch the nose a bit, to make it less likely to be tailheavy, and I did adjust some other proportions. Wing area is 252 sq. inches and RTF weight is 17 ounces. Power is a Skatty XT450 brushless outrunner, powered by a 3S1320 lipo battery.

It's yet to be maidened, due to the weather and the fact that my wife insists I not maiden any airplane unless she's there.

The first shot is of the covered, but unpainted model.

Fantastic work, CD! And it's better it's not a kit, as it's all your own work, totally from scrtach, not even a pre-drawn plan. Great stuff, and I think Wojtek is right, Charles will like that.

Thanks, guys, I really enjoy scratch-building. It takes a long time to do, but I really enjoy it.

I have to use color schemes like that. My eyes are getting too old and weak to see camoflaged aircraft. I rarely fly the Harrow that's in my avatar, mainly because it disappears too easily. I expected that from the blue, but I find the green does it, too.
