Thanks Wayne.... Any advice on how to make the gun tube and flash surpressor look more realistic???

Anyone with some advice???

So far, theyve been sprayed with gunmetal and then gloss coated... I was going to try and figure it out, experiment alttie bit, but maybe someone has screwed with these before and can offer up advice...

The three different parts look slightly different, the muzzle, barrel and housing rings all seem slightly different hues...

On examples of the real weapon I've seen, like the Flak38 the barrel was Parkerised, the compensator nut was dull steel, and the flash suppressor black painted (worn) over dull steel. So, for the barrel, semi matt black, with a hint of blue, a steel, or dark grey with a touch of silver for the compensator, and very dark grey, with grey steel 'wear', for the flash suppressor. When it's all dry, give the barrel and suppressor a coat of semi-matt clear, then, brush on some graphite dust from a pencil, or roughly sand the pencil and lightly rub it over the whole lot. On th inside of the suppressor, give it a run around with the pencil tip.

Thanks guys on the pictures, Dan that might be it. Ive got one or two more books to look though but it seems to be a very hard squadron to find stuka pictures on.

OK an update....

Worked through the day, fumes still got my head foggy, whew!!!

Decided to finally attack the spinner with the red spiral, been dreading it.... Didnt come out too shabby and will pass the muster once given a wash and weathered....

Also got the props painted and glossed, camo work on the cannons, landing gear spates painted and glossed and the elevators and flaps painted and glossed...

Decided to start the upper wing, so sprayed on the seams in preperation for tomorrow when I try to mimick Mr. Littles' time consuming and patience trying method of "spot painting".... Last pic is a test of the wash on the bottom to highlight the rivets....

Lookin good....
