The last couple of weeks have been slow, the need to get the Tornado's out of the way took priority but some time has been spent on doing more filing, scraping and fitting of the Aries parts to the resin fuselage. Today has also been a hive of activity, with the shed cleanup out of the way it was all modelling today.
The first job was to get the resin upper wing spine to fit into the over wing slot and the cut out the centre of the kit main upper wing so it would accommodate the replacement.
The kit's upper and lower wing parts.
The new resin upper wing spine that has been recessed on the leading edge by me.
The upper wing unit showing the kit spine and the replacement resin spine.
The kit upper wing spine has been removed and the replacement dry fitted over the kit lower wing.
This next 5 pics show the two halves of the resin fuselage banded together and the Aeries parts dry fitted and checked.
While banded together the wing unit was also tested.
The kit tail fin has to be removed and attached to the resin fuselage. The tail also had to be modified by removing the ECM fairing from the trailing edge.
