Wonder how a Huey would look in balsa ? Charles

Now That would be a stretch!!!!!

Thanks guys......

Then I noticed this fairing is Not on my reference picture from 1960's. So filling it but cannot see if the screen on the curve is on this bird or not. Had to do some filling at the curve above this fairing as well and a little shaping of it as it will be pretty visible.

Having to do some filling around the bottom of the windscreen. The nose shifted as it was setting. Everything else is going okay.

I sailor on.

Thanks guys.... I feel like I'm getting a bit more done now, things are fitting on rather nicely.

I've got the winch sorted. The engine covers are going on smoothly, a little shaving here and there. Fitting the hull, it's a bit of a bother. Primed and painted the open stairs hatch. Still haven't approached the top half. Struts for the pontoons are coming up as well.

I sailor on. Photos tomorrow, dinner out tonight.

Yep, back............ no prawns..... steak and chops!!!!!

This morning I have an overall of the work done so far, and a little red patch of Putty to fill a gap. All the nacelles are attached and smoothed along with scribing panel lines that went away. I also painted the inside of the step part of the entry hatch.

I glued up part of the winch struts, the silver bit is the clamping tweezers, but not To the fuselage. When it sets I can fit the third strut as the whole assy won't move around on me. I can remove the winch and struts so I don't break them off.

I added a strip of styrene to the opening at the front of the hull and filed it smooth but there ended up an uneven gap. I used a piece of sandpaper while pressing the hull up at the space. Pulling the sandpaper back and forth, in and out I got the gap to conform to the hull piece. I haven't glued the hull in place yet and will have to shave the sides at the bow a bit to even it out. A bit fiddly.

I sailor on.
