As it so happens Bill, I've been south for the last few days, not Antarctica but Melbourne so have missed all your drama and your email. I got my pontoons so long ago that even my purchase receipts have fade. I had a quick look on the internet but need to spend more time digging, but if you need replacement kit pontoons, I think I still have the originals.

What you're doing scares the sh!!t out of me but man I give you full marks for having a go and an rooting for you.

Well as it happens, I may not have to do the Frankenstein sponsons! I have found a source for aftermarket short ones, but the fella is on holiday till the first week or so of Nov. I may be out of the woods, but I think I could have pulled it off........ Just a little distapointed I my not have to try...... Thanks for the sentiments Vic.....

Am just sitting here on me drunkin arse. Heavy day today at work. Start 7.15 just so he could claim some gov't money. Then he had me doing finishing work, which I loath, cuz it's never done His way, but then He Never tells you what His way Is, till it's bl00dy well done.

But I have done some more work on my Hurricane. Karen doesn't know I will be sending her this one, Then I will build one for my own self. Karen will get his first victory marked plane, and I will have his last victory marked plane. And I am just stoked over doing this...

Hang on, another slurp of my rummy coke.... the Giants won the series, four straight, that's what really counts.

I do sailor on.

Well, not getting any reply from the American bloke who makes the gear sponsons, I am having to do the Frankenstein operation on the kit pieces to get them a bit more like the real thing.

So I am submitting two pictures, I added the bottom plate to get the plan view correct using a card to gauge my filing and sanding. Next picture I added some filler blocks to make the use of Squadrons Green putty a little less in volume. I'll start filling and shaping tonight.

I just hope I can get this friggin thing finished after waiting for the lunkhead in the States. Doesn't it just grate on you when this happens.

On behalf of America, We appologize.
I really dislike having one of my models held up by anyone but me. You will probably do a better job on it now that you have had a little break.

Well heeeeere's this mornings filling. The Squadron "soilent" green dried over night.

This morning, Milliput. The white stuff, only because I didn't know of the different grades. But I am happy with the white. It's meant to repair china. It's very fine. Mixing according to instructions is a must.

**The arrow indicates I took a mil or so off this form so the Milliput would span Over it so the Milliput would be seamless.

Pushed it firmly into the green putty and crevasses so it would have a good grip. When it's pretty much like I want it, just smoothing a bit overall with my fingers. I then wet my fingers with a bit of water, as per instructions, and it will slurry a bit on top and you can work it around just like pottery clay. I was a little low in one side so I just wet it and worked a bit of left over into it with a little paddle, pushing it in to make sure it grips when dry and not flakes off. Smooth it with wet fingers again and wah-lah.

So it dries till tomorrow and I can start sanding.

I sailor on.
