Thank you gentlemen.

So this a.m. I took a look at the photo I have of number 53, and low and behold, I've not noticed one window in the "D" model, is Not there in the "A" model. So I gotta fill the bugger up, just stuck the glass in place and use it as a filler and putty (Paul) around it. And I wound the cable on the winch. The screened area in front of the main rotor head in not on 53 either, so I just had to file that smooth instead of spending hours cutting out itty bitty square holes for the PE screen.

Thanks for the whoo hoos fells.....

Finished the interior seats for the crew. Got the window filled, and the grill work done. The yellow oval you can see the window is filled with the kit glass and puttied in. The quarter circle piece is the one that is solid sheet metal on the 3A, but if you look at Vic's version it's filled with little grill areas.

The grill on the tail I had to modify, the 3A has just one sorta wrap around grill instead of the three pieces of the 3D, which is the kit model. I recessed an area for the new grill and filled the areas around it with my Bondo putty. I put a piece of electricians tape the shape of the new grill in the recess and then Bondoed around it, sanded it down with the tape in place. When I removed the tape I then glued the new formed grill in the new recess, wallah!

I've redone the padding around the sonar area, the old one was just too thick, it's drying. Just a few more little interior things on the walls. Then to the exterior. Fitting the stubborn struts to the gear pontoons.

Good thing I'm only doing this one entry!

Thanks fellas.....

The interior is all but done on the starboard side...... I may add a few cables or such... but nothing that won't be visible.

Still have to paint the port side hatch and stairs..... then figure a way of hanging the buggers, will have to go back and look at Vics to see what he may have done.

Kinda winding down. Just in time to start the next GB and my F3F, Yorktown VF-5 on the first of Nov. I hope it goes a little quicker than these heckalopters.
