I like the way they did that behind the engine. As for the gun doors. If you dont like how they turn out Dan could you just seal them. I dont know much about modeling or do you have to cut some of the wing?

Then again Dan, maybe this will cheer you up on it.

This is just dryfitting Cory, trying to imagine/plan out how Im gonna scratch build detail the stbd side gun bay....

Question on the tail wheel bay, I know that the interior walls are zinc chromate yellow on the F4U-1A's, but is the framework/bulkhead assembly also zcy???

Oh, k, I was wondering why you hadn't painted anything!

And as for colour, I would say that it would be the zcy, I can't see them painting it a different colour, too complicated for construction.

Coming on very nicely Dan.
Now, before you go any further. Have you got any thin plastic card? If not, let me know before Monday mid day (UK time), and I'll stick a bit in the packges with the other stuff. I'll also print and enclose the COLOUR pic of the gun bay, and draw a sketch of how to make the gun bay separators, and the interior skinning for the gun and ammo bay doors / covers, with some other colour notes etc on some of the detail. To build one side shouldn't take more than a day or two, and that's at my pace, with knackered hands! Remember, once it's all together, a lot of the detail is unseen, so it's not as much work as you think. Do you know how to, and can you stretch sprue? If not to either, again let me know, and I'll include some lengths of varying thickness, to be used for door stays etc.
If you have got the card and can do sprue, again let me know, and I'll e-mail as much as i can about the rest of the above.
Now, the tail wheel well etc. I'm not positive, but normal practice was to have 'none crew' areas, particularly those open to the elements, in YZC, so I'd guess, if the surrounding area is that colour, then the whole lot would be, particularly if that Mark had that finish elsewhere.
