Getting to those dive drakes... painting one side only decided not to extend them....black first!

Yes, I'm starting with the dark colour first!, if the white oversprays a tad, the black on white is easier to do the touchup work than white on black!!

....and glossed the canopy sections and U/C covers...need to make sure when the flat coat goes on all parts match up!

Herer's a question Wayne. When you spray the canopy frames with the interior colour first, 66 in your case I believe, do you do anything about the fact that the colour appears very glossy through the glass on the inside? Do you run a thin line of dullcoat on the inside with a fine brush or just leave it?

Usually I just leave it, it's not always obvious, however I will make that judgement call when I start fitting the parts....

Looking really great Wayne, coming together now.
Andy, where the internal frame is expose or easily visible, it's normally better to paint it. The paint/mask on the outside helps to align for freehand painting, or masking, although the latter can be very tricky or impossible, depending on access and curves etc. the '110 canopy 'lid' is fairly straightforward though.

Thanks Wayne. My Bf-110 has a flip-top canopy so the inside frames will be clearly visible. Haven't decided what option to use to make this look realistic.

Well if it was me, those clearly seen areas would be masked and painted.
You may recall my J1N1 Japanese night fighter? This had 2 open sections, so all internal areas were masked and painted. Simply used a second set of masks trimmed where necessary to fit the internal curve of the canopy surface.

Yeah, I'm leaning that way. For some reason, Eduard provided PE internal frames for the side panels of the canopy but not the one that flips up. The PE pieces will be painted 02 so I think I'll paint the frames on the inside of the top section as well.

Thanks guys. Now back to the Wayne Little show.
