Did some work on the base tonight.

Painted the wood filler Humbrol dark earth 29 which went on well. Then spread some foam grass across it with a few pieces of lichen. It needs a few more weeds and other stuff as its still a little patchy. I added some ballast for gravel.

Stained the matchsticks with an acrylic black wash then added oil stains and greened the edges of the wood to blend it better.

The MK1 Hurricane is for demonstration purposes 'only'

Still needs some touching up as the photos highlight.

Heinz, that bleed through might be a benefit. Same thing happened to me and when I weathered it, the edges blended great and weathered very well. I guess because of the extra paint it sopped it up and came off looking fantastic. Not all is lost!

Cleaned up that bleed through on the fuselage. Its not perfect but for me I'm happy with it.
