Heh....watch some of the original "Godzilla" movies sometime. All the guys on the streets of Tokyo will stop, point, and scream "Gojirra!" before getting eaten or squished. So...in essence....they did name it "Godzilla".

Thought I'd post some pic of my new pontoon boat. Bull Shoals is a lot smaller than Lake Mich but at 85 mi long it's still an all day trip from one end to another. With the 115hp Mercury 4-stroke it will still do 30mph and carry 13 people. Has a privacy area in the back and a chem potty for the ladies, twotables and a grill that clips on the railing so we can stop anywhere, swim, ski, tube, and have a hot meal

Just bought this last weekend. 15 years old but in excellent shape with a 40 horse Merc 4 cycle. My wife has been wanting a pontoon for a couple of years (my wooden sky boat scares her) and the asking price was very reasonable.

Glenn, very nice and seems to be in very excellent shape. We have a ball with ours. In fact just had it out last weekend. Water is still a bit chilly for swiming, 75F in the coves and 68F in the main channel so we just cruised the coves and had lunch. Where to you keep her? Is that one of the Chain-of-Lakes?

Thanks Mike. A couple of years ago we bought a summer place on a lake in SW Michigan, about a three hour drive from here. Never been on the Chain and would never want to after all the horror stories I've heard. Don't know what the water temp is but it's COLD! Makes me glad I invested in a dock that I don't have to get into the water to put in or take out. The boat is in great shape. Only things that didn't work on it is one of the headlights and the horn. The guy I bought it from took real nice care of it and didn't use it much.

Glenn, back 60 years or more we (Mom and Dad) had a summer home on Lake Catherine near Antioch. At the time it was beautiful there and the lake was full of fish. Weekends were busy but the week days were quiet. Dad bought me a small row-boat and a 2.5hp Evenrude outboard. Thought I was King of the Lake. I'm sure it's a zoo up there now.
If you intend any evening cruises (they're absolutely great, espec full moon) get the headlight fixed, don't do much out on the lake but docking is another story. I think the CG requires a horn. About once a year or so the Corps CG patrol the lake and pull boats over at random to check, usually on holiday weekends

I intend to get both the horn and the light fixed. Also want to get a fish finder, not so much for fish as so I know how much water I have under the prop.
Been out many time at night in my old wooden runabout and you're right, docking can be a pain, but I have a plan. I picked up a couple of those solar landscaping lights and will mount then on the outside corner dock poles as soon as I get the "T" at the end of the dock in the water.
Wish my dad could have lived to see me buy this place, he would have loved it. Our family vacations when I was a kid were going up to northern Wisconsin or Minnesota for a week and renting a cottage on a lake and spending the time fishing or swimming.

Here's my 14.5 ft Bombard inflatable with extras I've added. The rod holder board and electronics
board are mounted with Velcro strips which makes for easy takedown.

Just as I was downloading the pics the site asked me to login again, which I did and the result was
repeated photos.
