Back to work. The undercarriage is the venerable old tool Revell. It looks sturdy to me, need it because the V-16 developed a little overweight (has nothing to do with her beer consum). All this putty and some metal have their prize. (At the end it didn't make it. It embrittled over the years, tried to repare it with wire - broke again - took the "Newtool Dora gear at last.)

I sprayed a thin coat of primer (waterbased) to guarantee good tacking of the paint.

Than came a coat of RLM 76 over all surfaces. I don't use ready mixed paints and mix them from plane to plane new, avoiding by that any uniform look of my planes (life like)

I will not bother you with the fight I had doing the 14 Cowlingflaps and glue them correctly. In fact I ruined the original cowl and had to saw it off. I would be glad if someone has some good ideas how to make cowlflaps and fix them to .cowlings.
Now there is a new cowl and 14 flaps out of two dozens I made.
The pics show the paintsheme I aplied. I did the RLM-74 with a slight greenish hue for "Grau-Grün"= gray-green as it was called. There was a change during 1943 when RLM 74 went from bluegray to graygreen.
I used the time between fruitless atempts on the cowlflaps to make a spinner for the V16 from the old-tool Fw 190 droptank cause the Dora spinner and prop are much to massive for the job. The prop is a modification of the venerable A prop.

I wonder If I schould do a "REVI" sight.
The FW-190 V16 was stationed during its active service in "Stuttgart-Echterdingen" as a testbed for the Daimler-Benz DB603A and its deriatives. It never carried any weapons. But with a REVI it would look nicer?
There is some time left for this decision.

well at last I decided to put a revi in. The clear parts are painted and the whole colorscheme was darkened a little.

I think it's time to do the decals.

For a better look I changed the cowling again (last orders please) and added 1.5 mm to the front of the cowling.
