Details: Nightfighter of I./NJG11
Scale: 1:48
Manufacturer: Fujimi
Aftermarket addons: One off color profile, scratch building here and there, mostly in the cockpit...

Getting back into it here with an entry into the Nightfighter Build... 1/48th scale is NOT my bag with only 1 completed kit to my credit... Which was a 109 as well....

Immense thanks go to Wayne Little for not only providing this kit to me, but also sending me some pics and additional info on this "mysterious" crate that will allow me to participate with u goons....

Kit looks good, almost no flash on the parts, and it also includes some parts for a G-series aircraft, but the instruction say squat about that...

Got some work done this morning in between working on the scoring sheets for the Group Builds... Got all pieces cut out and cleaned up for the first 4 steps of the instructions...

Now time to get some cockpit research photos of the K-4 cockpit and ANY addional info concerning turning a normal K-4 into a Night-Intruder.... Right off the bat I know Im gonna need some exhaust flame shrouds...

lol Thanks Wojtek....

I cropped and blew up the B&W shot to get a better "real" look at the camo work... Also found 1 and only One other modelers version of this crate, and the inaccuracies are quite evident...

Question on this plane, would the Rüstsatz kit R3 (Schloß 503A-1 rack for one fuselage drop tank 300 L) be installed??? For Night-Intruder Ops, I would assume this is standard fare....

Also, there was the possibility that it may have been fitted out with the R3 kit, which added two 20 mm Mauser MG 151/20 underwing gunpods... Ideas or comments???

Not me either, I'd have taken the whole bl**dy crate! Even though it's not a '13'! Looking forward to this one Brother... :thumbright:

Nice to have you back in the GB Dane, it's going to be a joy watching you put this on together even if it is a bit tiny for you........................

base coating is overall RLM 76 with typical RLM grey maybe two colours of grey in a very not organized blotch pattern. unfortunately for the K boyz they were flying day missions against US P-47's and losing in spring of 45. possibly even carrying drop tank fittings for a single bomb but at least a drop tank for longer rides, though they were not really flying against BC heavies anymore. The unit is from 1st staffel but by March of 45 only 3./NJG 11 was left of I./NJG 11 cadre, the other two staffeln were incorporated in to one large one. and due to being a NJG even this S/E job only had three staffels per gruppe.

hoping this makes sense ?

1/48???!!!!

Its amazing that even with a photo, the different interpretations on the camo in those profiles.
