Interesting thoughts on the colors, Japanese markings and paint have long been a puzzle to me.
Perhaps, when the time comes we could ask Shinpachi about the "Willow"

Thanks Paul, got that book too, didn't think to check it! Mmm so it also states Saneyasu Hidaka.

Will eventually build the Zuiho in both the early shorter flight deck and the later extended deck with camouflage as shown by Shinpachi-san! :D

Sweet Wayne, can't wait to see them when done. I looked around for some more info on his plane but so far no luck?

Hello, meatloaf109!
Wayne may permit a little off-topic question as his thread is always very educational.

Was the Zuiho that small (escort carrier), or are those Zeros too big, they look a bit odd in the pics, size wise...

Always been partial to Shōkaku and her sister ship Zuikaku myself...

You are most welcome my friend to respond to any questions asked!

Zuiho was originally to be a submarine support ship Takasaki, it was converted to a light Carrier.
When compared to the sister ships Shokaku and Zuikaku, Zuiho was roughly 2/3 the size carrying 30 aircraft compared to the larger carriers 72.

Shokaku, Zuikaku and Zuiho formed the new first Carrier Division (Koku Sentai) after the losses at Midway.

Love the shokaku's to Jan! :D

Prepping some more parts....cockpit bits!
