Thanks fellas...

Another update, kinda the same stuff, but after a dark wash here and there and some painting.... I attempted to paint in a more realistic way to show weathering with the paint, and after the first run, Im rather impressed....

Time consuming??? Jeez, it took me over an hour to do the wings, and my "trigger" finger is still sore lol...

Some advice here Wayne, should I now change up the color alittle bit to add to the fading look??? Put a couple of drops of flat black into the RLM 71 and shoot it again???

Or will it just deepen after the second and third coat??? Problem I have is that the elevators were sprayed my regular old way, and I didnt think think about this before... I know Ill have to run over them again with a slightly shaded color to try and get the effect of what Im doin with the rest of the model...

lol, no.......

4 parts that are made to be in the closed position only.... Theres gonna be some tweaking to em to get em in the open pose, and Im gonna need help in doin that....

The rear gunner section should be no biggie, but the pilots canopy will have to be notched to allow it to go past the antenna mast....

Dan, she is looking great and I'm looking forward to the completer machine. Can't understand why a 1:32 scale bird has to have the canopy closed, that's weird. I'm unsure if your parts are the same as mine (see pic) but my suggestion is to build up the tag on the pilots canopy so that it slides over the gunners forward canopy, which is static. The gunners rear canopy slides rearward.

I see what you mean Dan, they must have has a sort of slide back cover when opening the canopy, anything less and it would have been very draughty with a hole on top as well as the gunners aperture. I'll have to take a look at mine tomorrow and see what can be fixed.

Bl**dy marvellous work Dan! The guns, and gun pods, look terrific man! There must be a way of having the front canopy open - I can't see Hasewhatsit moulding the canooy in four pieces if it can't be posed open. I reckon Vic is right - a strip of thin plastic along the base of the frame (on the pilot's canopy) to make it proud of the fuselage/central canopy, shoulcd start to set it in the right position. As for the antenna mast, either there was a small, 'u' shaped notch at the rear of the canopy frame, like on the Spitfire, ot it stopped at the mast. I'll check my refs to see if there's anything on it and let you know.

Appreciate all the great comments guys, theyre keepin me motivated....

The canopy saga continues....

From the pics Terry sent me, u can clearly see a notch in the rear of the canopy frame, a clearer example is at the bottom of an excellent kit....

As u can see from my pics, thats the least of my problems.... The main canopy does not fit over the stationary middle piece, at all....

Is the solution to heat it up in hot water and mold it over the stationary middle piece???
