Excellent photos, Eric!

I always enjoy your shots and what I like most about your shots, are the angles and energy you manage to capture. For those of us who are familiar with flight, it brings about a sense of being there, knowing the "moment" in a way. But for those poor earthbound souls, it offers them a window into another world...keep up the good work!

On a side note, the "Kamikaze" method rocks and I've managed to capture some really cool shots that way. Sometimes I'll open the sunroof on the car and let fly while on the road!

Thanks Dave. I do feel truly blessed to get up and take photos like this and while I am there to get the shots I am asked for, I also try to capture the experience itself. I know that few people get to do it, so if I can get a photo that represents it as close as possible, I have done what i set out to do.

I thought you guys might appreciate this. If you are along the east coast of the US, you might see this trailer. The P-51 photo on the side is my photo.

I went to Knotts Berry Farm with the kids a couple of weeks back for my son's birthday. I hadn't been there in 35 years. It's a fun place to take photos. It makes it even more fun to turn them into vintage look.

Thanks guys. I want to try and get down during the week in the off season to go crazy with the camera.

Now back to some aviation subject. I drove 300 miles yesterday (round trip) to shoot a closed practice event/filming of the Ultimate Air Race Championship. It's a new thing that is being put together for the airshow circuit. Unfortunately, the pylons are only good to 18 knots. The afternoon brought very sudden 25-30 knot gusts that had everyone scrambling to save the pylons, including me. But I did get some great shots in the morning before the wings picked up.

Picture multiple airplanes (up to 8, we had a max or three on the course yesterday) flying about 300 MPH at 10-60 feet off the ground. I actually had to duck on one of the passes and I am 5'8" tall!

I damn near was! At 10 feet, they are low enough to get the vortex after they pass over you. It's pretty cool, if you have the nerve to stand there and snap away. This was an inbound on one of the laps. This is about 10 feet in altitude. They did get lower on the turns.
