I am assembling the parts to add a Mk1 cockpit slice into the collection.....aim for completion around June 2012

The control column for the project is here....it is mostly from K9844, so is the oldest Spitfire control column in existence!

Sorry Tony,

I want to see how much "aluminium" there is...I've only ever seen the Brass Hurricane gun buttons up close...never seen the early Spit one except in bad photos..some detail of the top, sides,back and bottom of the gunbutton area of the column would be great,

The only aluminum part of an early spit grip is the knurled part labelled 'SAFE' and 'FIRE' that turns...see button as received....oh yes, they are red anodised

Thanks Tony, that is exactly what I needed!!

LEGEND!

One small question, that means that the locking cap at the back of the "barrel" (which grips the rear of the spade grip and, with the button housing, secures the button in place) is natural brass finish?
