Spokes look great.....they will support the beast won't they?:D

It's some type of steel and not brass so that made me feel better, but it does make me wonder and the spoked wheels were my main draw to the plane.

It's going to be one of those, "Close your eyes and hope for the best" thingys
 
Finally able to get some work on her. Spent the entire day getting the basic cockpit done.

Pic 1 - Painted the panel black, then using an emery board procurred while the Mrs was looking away, lightly sanded it to bring out the brass.

Pic 2 - I assumed that this plane was not in the best of shape when the USSR gave it to the Chinese, I heavily weathered the insides with washes of grimy black.

Pic - 3 Shows the front section of the cockpit housing the gunners/radio ops/bombardier area

Pic - 4 Shows the sides of the cockpit walls, also heavily washed in grimy black

Pic - 5 Shows the wheel spokes attached to one side of the tire. Used the CA Gel, but probably would have worked better with the thin stuff.
