Well how easy was that, got it to fit and in!!!!

Put a piece of tape across the window after I sized it and gently put it in place. Then put just drops of glue in a few places to secure it. Let that dry, then a bit more on each side, but not overdoing it. Now finally priming. The front just to make sure all my shimming around the glass house doesn't stand out too bl00dy bad. Now just to fit on the pitot tubes and all the other sticky outy things and prime. First color to go down will be the International Orange. Mask that out and put down the Engine block gray.

I may get it done!!!!!!!!!!

It's all primed up and ready for the orange. It's enamel orange, so it's airbrush time and I have some work tomorrow. Hopefully not a lot and I can get home and put a coat on before nightfall. Fingers crossed.

It's the Revell orange...... it will look kinda like this.... this is one from the late 60's or sometime in the 70's. There came a time when they were all gray, orange was gone altogether.

That prime looks great Bill, reminds me of all the old WWII planes that were cocooned and scattered around the airbases in Blighty, just in case, after all we did have Korea on the go…………………………………..damn me now I do know I'm getting old.

Personally, I think the gray and orange really made the aircraft. all gray is boring, and white and sea gray is pukey looking.
The Humbrol, I said it was Revell but was mistaken, is proving difficult. It's very transparent and I am not used to spraying enamels. Called Vic today for a shoulder to lean on. Went to work so it had the day to dry but still is tacky feeling, not tacky but just so slick. Don;t think I will be working tomorrow so I can stink the place up with enamels. Sprayed a bit on the tail, then some on and old kit to test. It's just gonna take so many coats.

One of the reasons I switched to flat acrylics. I find they give a better coverage, dry faster and are way easier to clean up. If a gloss color is required, then a coat of Future takes care of it nicely. I had way too many times that the enamels went bad in the bottle and left a coat that seemed like it never "dried". Could have something to do with the humidity in the air also, are you having a high humidity thing going on down there?

Looking good in the primer Bill, and sounds like you're having the 'Humbrol Problem' - it's one of the intermittent problems with most Humbrol paints these days, since the demise of Humbrol as a company, and the closure of the factory. Just second-rate products I'm afraid - the reason I need to change after using it for 50 years.
All I can suggest is to stir it at least 100 times (seriously), and decant some, stir it again, and then again immediately before use. You may need to reduce the ratio of thinner too, as this may be causing, or adding to, the separation of the pigment. Even after all this, it will possibly take a couple of days to harden fully, preferably in a warm, but not humid, environment.

The Only reason I am using enamel is because of the color, couldn't find an acrylic this color orange. So I will just have to apply a coat and drag out my Bristol F2B to keep my grubby paws of it while it dries. Today may be a bit warmer than yesterday.
