Category 1 Advanced
Model: Hellcat Mk I
Scale: 1:48
Manufacturer: Eduard
Aftermarket add ons: None planned. Mostly OOB with possible scratch built parts

Description of aircraft to be modeled is provided in the below excerpt from the Eduard instruction sheet. Internet searches so far have not revealed the pilot for aircraft JV-131. However, Blythe Ritchie piloting sister aircraft JV-132 (code EoF) scored one of the few victories over the Luftwaffe by a Hellcat on May 8, 1944 during Operation Hoops in Norway by downing an Fw-190A from JG-5.

I have collected only two photo references for machines in this unit and these are included below. Any more information and references would be most welcome!

Good selection Andy, If by chance you can pick up a copy of Scale Aircraft Modeller Vol 31 Iss 9 for November 2009, it has a very good article on building the Eduard F6F Hellcat. Though not the same model kit, it has some good photo detail of construction.

Dude, those aren't Hellcats but, you know, that other plane that Terry doesn't like.

Good period pic though. Thanks!
