Resuming where I left off yesterday, the actuator links for the elevators and rudder had to get done. This morning I started with a scratch-built bell crank to be mounted on the port side of the wheel well Photo 1
Photo 2 With the wings now on, the actuators (at arrow) are installed from the crank shown yesterday to the new one above which is now glued to the port wall. It's not easily seen being painted black and partially hidden by the flange but it is visible. The camera makes a shadow there.
Photo 3 shows the wheel well looking forward. Arrow 1 points to two new hydraulic lines added and arrow 2 is the linkage that connects the stick to the aileron control actuators. It's actually at the wrong angle when compared with the reference photos but I can't quite make out why. Oh well....There will be yet more hydraulics installed for the main gear jacks and brake lines but for now I'll take a break from this fiddly stuff.
Photo 4 finally shows the Sturmvogel in its full glory. There will be some minor filling and sanding done which I'll do through the week. Won't be much progress to report on that so will post an update when something more exciting comes along.
That's it for now and thanks for all your kind words and for your continued interest.
